Community Content Moderator

We are currently looking to fill a Community Content Moderator role, a part-time role responsible for the overall management, monitoring, curation, and administration of various community content platforms and services. The individual will ensure the smooth operation of these platforms, address user issues, and maintain compliance with relevant policies.
Location: This is a remote role open to candidates based in the EU, UK, or Canada. At this time, we are only able to consider applicants authorized to work in these regions.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Administration: Manage and administer a variety of online community platforms, including issue trackers, discussion forums, chat services, code repositories, foundation-hosted marketplaces, news outlets, blog platforms, and content aggregation sites.
- User Support: Triage user account issues (authentication, password resets), site usage questions, and general community inquiries related to web properties, and address as appropriate.
- Issue Triage: Handle and triage issues reported on various platforms.
- Content Moderation: Respond to requests to moderate content on platforms that allow community posting, ensuring compliance with our privacy policy, DSA regulations, and other relevant policies.
- Repository Management: Oversee issues and wikis within code repositories, and manage software distribution repositories.
- Email List Management: Manage community mailing lists.
- Compliance: Ensure all platforms and content adhere to compliance disclosures, particularly regarding content moderation.
- Periodic Reporting: Generate reports on the moderation activities carried out on behalf of the foundation, notably our DSA Compliance Disclosure statement.
- Process Improvements: As part of the foundation’s technical team, provide input on improvements to processes, tooling, policies, etc. to enable the Foundation to better serve its communities, and to better ensure our community spaces are welcoming and vibrant.
Required Skills:
- Experience with managing various types of online community platforms.
- Technical proficiency with issue tracking, version control, communication, and content management systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of content moderation principles and practices.
- Knowledge of software repository management.
This role is expected to require approximately 20 hours/week.
