We are looking for a Technical Content Specialist to devise and implement a content strategy that supports the Foundation and its affiliated working groups' strategic goals. This role is pivotal in crafting impactful content that resonates with our developer community, fostering engagement, satisfaction, and growth.

Location of Position

This position is entirely remote. The Eclipse Foundation is global in scope and is domiciled in Belgium, with staff located in Europe, Canada and the United States.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a content-driven digital marketing strategy that aligns with the Foundation's objectives, focusing on community growth and developer engagement. This strategy should include thought leadership, demand generation, and social media campaigns, and other efforts aimed at increasing awareness and fostering community growth.
• Produce a variety of high-quality content forms (e.g., ebooks, white papers, infographics, videos) to enhance the Eclipse community's visibility and engagement.
• Experiment with innovative content formats and channels, analyze their impact on key metrics, and use insights to inform strategic content decisions.
• Maintain a consistent blogging schedule to support working groups and drive traffic through SEO, social media, and newsletters.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, external influencers, and the Eclipse community to create content that addresses stakeholder needs and audience interests.
• Take on the editor role for community newsletters, managing the editorial calendar and staying abreast of industry trends to ensure relevance and timeliness.
• Ensure the consistency of the Eclipse Foundation's brand voice across all content channels and formats.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to produce collaborative content, and manage external writers to ensure quality and consistency.
• Develop a comprehensive documentation strategy, establish a style guide, and define best practices for the creation and maintenance of working group documents.
• Regularly maintain, update, and enhance existing project documentation for key initiatives, including managing and organizing documentation repositories on platforms like GitHub.
• Provide support for Eclipse projects by assisting in the creation of technical documentation, such as user guides and release notes, as required.
• Adapt to evolving organizational needs by taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
• Play a pivotal role in the Software Defined Vehicle Working Group (SDV WG), spearheading communication efforts to engage diverse audiences with the group's activities and advancements.
• Keep abreast of the SDV WG's key initiatives and achievements, distilling and disseminating this information through blogs, newsletters, and other channels to foster greater community engagement and communication.
• Collaborate with the SDV WG Process Engineer to assist in the development and refinement of manuals and handbooks, enhancing the understanding and adoption of processes among stakeholders.
• In collaboration with the Process Engineer, establish standardized documentation templates and best practices, guiding project teams in achieving and maintaining exemplary documentation quality.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or equivalent. Master’s degree is an asset.

Desired Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates who have a background in the software industry.
• Extensive expertise in digital marketing, including a proven track record of creating compelling online content.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both in writing and speaking. Additional language skills are highly regarded.
• Proficient in crafting, refining, and promoting both written and visual content, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
• Well-versed in the current trends and best practices in digital marketing and analytics, ensuring strategies are up-to-date and effective.
• Demonstrated skills in search engine optimization, enhancing the visibility and reach of content across digital platforms.
• Experienced in authoring, pitching, and placing content through external channels like guest blogging, broadening the reach and impact of marketing efforts.
• Capable of managing and completing intricate projects efficiently with minimal oversight, showcasing strong project management skills.
• Ability to influence and drive initiatives forward within a team setting, even without direct authority, highlighting strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience engaging with developer communities, demonstrating an understanding of their dynamics and communication styles.
• Familiarity with the Eclipse Foundation community, contributing to an aligned and cohesive marketing approach.
• Self-motivated with a proven track record of working independently, taking initiative, and driving projects to completion.
